Wungening Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting Aboriginal communities across Western Australia. Their work focuses on providing culturally appropriate services, fostering connection to culture, and empowering Aboriginal families and individuals through programs in areas such as health, education, housing, and community development.

As part of their commitment to creating safe and nurturing spaces for community members, Wungening engaged us to design and build an interactive community playground for a residential village on Wanaping Road, Kenwick. This project was guided by a deep respect for Aboriginal culture and the unique needs of the local community.

The playground design focuses on creating an interactive and inclusive space that reflects and celebrates Aboriginal culture. We incorporated natural materials like wood to harmonize with the environment and emphasize sustainability. A standout feature of the playground is the custom-built deck and bike circuit, which seamlessly integrates with the refurbished play area, encouraging active play and connection among community members.

This project not only revitalized the playground but also fostered a sense of community pride and belonging, providing a space where children and families can gather, learn, and grow together. Working with Wungening Aboriginal Corporation was an inspiring collaboration, and we are proud to contribute to their mission of empowering Aboriginal communities.
